Charles E. (“Chuck”) Fagan III has served as PSCU’s president and chief executive officer since April 2015. In this role, he leads the strategic direction of the company and oversees all aspects of PSCU’s operations, ensuring the delivery of best-in-class payments solutions, service, data security, and successful growth for the company’s Owner credit unions.
Under Fagan’s leadership, PSCU’s Owner credit unions have benefitted from the company’s significant revenue growth and substantial investments in technology. Driving a commitment to providing an unparalleled member experience, Fagan has overseen PSCU’s continued evolution to create a culture empowered by the digital landscape, including the launch of Lumin Digital, the company’s cloud-native digital banking platform.
Fagan’s career in the credit union industry spans over three decades. Prior to rejoining PSCU, Fagan served as president and chief executive officer of the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES), a membership association dedicated to educating and developing credit union executives and emerging leaders, from January 2013 to April 2015. While at CUES, Fagan helped credit unions cultivate talent with the formation of the Strategic Innovation Institute, a partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University. Previously, Fagan was with PSCU for more than 15 years, progressing through various leadership positions and ultimately serving as executive vice president and chief sales officer. Earlier in his career, Fagan served as an account manager at Electronic Data Systems and managed card services at Virginia Credit Union.
A frequently requested speaker, Fagan is an advocate for the credit union industry and an active member of the community. Currently, he serves as a member of Visa’s Executive Client Council, a member of the Florida Chapter of the American Cancer Society’s CEOs Against Cancer and a member of the Advisory Board for the College of Business and Economics at Longwood University. Fagan has also served as a member of Visa’s Credit Union Roundtable and Community Financial Institution Advisory Group, Board Treasurer for Bonifii (formerly CULedger) and a member of the Board of Directors for America’s Credit Union Museum. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia.
